"Buckwild" was written by musical director Jason Keiser who arranged, recorded and plays guitar, tres cubano, and mandolin on this particular track. Musically speaking, "Buckwild" is a through-line throughout the EP that brings into focus the beautiful fusion and marriage between traditional flamenco, bluegrass, and tinges of jazz.

New Acoustic Music fans will be delighted to hear this new fusion of subtle styles that have never quite been combined before. The interesting musical parts you hear include the traditional bluegrass guitar comping and classic 2-feel mandolin chop in the rhythmic accompaniment, the extended jazz and altered harmony of the harmonic progression before resolving back to G phrygian and the G phyrgian modal quality that brings to light the extravagant beauty that is flamenco music. From an analytical perspective, the form of the piece is AABBA which is a highly popular structure used in traditional bluegrass music.

The improvisational ideas and playing displayed by composer Keiser, showcase the virtuosity and musical stylings of bluegrass, flamenco, jazz and beyond that was inspired by the legendary guitar work of Tony & Wyatt Rice, Strunz & Farah, Paco de Lucia & Tomatito, and John McLaughlin & Al Di Meola.
